Tom Wieczorek

Tom obtained his master’s in chemistry from The University of Sheffield in 2018, which focused on creating functional biomimetic analogues of the hydrogenase enzymes for hydrogen production. He has also worked during several periods in the research group of Prof Ratcliffe at The University of the West of England (UWE) on the detection of disease biomarkers using a combination of GCMS and metal-oxide sensors. Tom joined the Davis research group in 2019 to investigate the potential of peptides as ‘informational self-replicators’ that could undergo Darwinian evolution and have relevance to the search for the origin of life.
