James obtained a first class MChem (Hons) degree from the University of York in 2010 and carried out his final year project, working on self-assembling degradable dendrons for Heparin binding with Prof. David K. Smith.
James was selected as one of 10 undergraduate students to carry out a 3 month fellowship at the Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ) during the summer of 2009, where he worked on new Calixarene ligands for Kv1.3 proteins, under the supervision of Prof. Javier de Mendoza.
He is currently working on new anion receptors and transporters.
